What’s new at IBC 2026: Introducing the latest features in Grabyo Live
A live event is no longer a single programme feed for a generic audience. Production teams need to create distinct experiences for broadcast, OTT and digital platforms, from vertical feeds and alternative commentaries to regional programming and new commercial experiences, all at the same time.
Traditional hardware stacks and legacy software weren’t built for this.
At IBC 2026 (Stand 5.A20), we’re introducing Grabyo Live: a comprehensive upgrade to our cloud native production platform built to help teams scale output without multiplying cost or complexity.
No legacy architecture. No hardware dependencies. A new production environment designed around how teams need to produce live content today, and where live production is heading next.
Create independent video mixes from a single production
One of the biggest advances in Grabyo Live is the ability to create multiple, visually distinct video mixes within the same live production.
Rather than all viewers receiving the same ‘world feed’ broadcast, , production teams can build independent mixes using different cameras, graphics, layouts and creative treatments within the same control room.
A single production could support a primary broadcast programme alongside a dedicated vertical production, a regional version of the event or an alternative feed built around different cameras, talent, language or commentary.
Each video mix can then be configured with independent bitrates, aspect ratios, resolutions and audio mixes depending on where and how that content will be consumed.
Crucially, these video mixes sit within the production itself. They are separate from the destinations that content is distributed to, giving teams the flexibility to create distinct programmes and then deliver them across the platforms and endpoints they need.
Produce for every screen
Audiences increasingly move between broadcast, streaming (OTT) and social platforms, and the experience they demand on each is different.
Grabyo Live is designed to make those differences part of the standard production workflow, rather than something teams have to solve downstream.
Produce a traditional 16:9 broadcast alongside a mobile-social 9:16 experience. Build different audio mixes for different audiences and devices. Adapt resolution and encoding profiles for individual workflows. Then distribute those programmes to the destinations that matter.
Combined with Grabyo’s vertical video production capability, content teams can build experiences specifically for mobile-social viewing alongside their main programme without replicating the entire production environment.
Production teams can move beyond simulcasting the same feed everywhere and start creating live experiences designed around the audience, platform and screen.
More control over the entire production workflow
Flexibility isn’t only about what audiences see.
Grabyo Live gives production teams much greater control over how their production environment is configured and managed behind the scenes.
Users can configure output encoding and proxy resolution according to the needs of each production, while ISO sources and programme outputs can be recorded at source quality.
Real-time input and output metrics provide operators with greater visibility into the health and performance of their live workflows, helping teams monitor productions as they happen.
Fine-grained user permissions also give organisations greater control over who can access different parts of the platform, particularly important as production workflows become more distributed and more teams collaborate remotely.
And with Management API access, organisations can integrate Grabyo Live more deeply into their existing operational and media systems.
The tools production teams need, brought together in the cloud
Grabyo Live has been rebuilt from the ground up, but the goal remains simple: give production teams the tools they need to create professional live programming without being tied to a physical control room.
Multi-camera vision mixing, software-defined audio mixing, remote guests and commentary, and instant replay are all integrated into the production environment and available in a web browser.
Grabyo Live gives organisations the ability to build sophisticated productions while keeping the flexibility to operate teams and resources wherever they need them.
We have only just got started
The launch at IBC 2026 is an important milestone for Grabyo Live, but it’s also the foundation for what comes next.
We’re continuing to expand the platform to support increasingly demanding broadcast workflows, including 10-bit 4:2:2 support, HEVC outputs, increased source and encoder capacity, deeper Production API capabilities and expanded replay workflows with full record-train access.
Together, these developments are designed to give production teams greater freedom over how they build, operate and scale live workflows in the cloud.
Grabyo Live is much more than recreating a traditional control room in a browser, it’s a production platform designed for the cloud, in the cloud.
Built for where live production is going
Moving production to the cloud has been focused on replacing physical infrastructure and reducing the resources needed to deliver a live programme.
That conversation has moved on.
The opportunity now is to give production teams the freedom to create more from every event.
More programmes. More formats. More personalised experiences. More destinations.
Without requiring another control room, more physical space, racks, hardware, facilities and all the other elements of a legacy production stack that was needed each time the output changes.
That’s what we’ve built the new Grabyo Live to enable.
At IBC 2026, we’ll be demonstrating Grabyo Live on Stand 5.A20, alongside real-world workflows showing how cloud production can support multiple video mixes, formats and audiences from a single production environment.
