Grabyo’s IBC 2024: Wrapped
IBC 2024 marked major updates across the entire Grabyo platform. We released AI-powered enhancements including automated highlights and text-to-speech live captions, plus exciting new alt-casting and automated vertical live production workflows.
Our set of cloud tools has expanded to offer broadcasters and media organizations the ability to extend, augment and create live video content that engage with audiences on every screen, on any platform.
We also teamed up with our close partners AWS, Haivision and Cuebi to demonstrate the flexibility and scalability of building cloud video workflows that seamlessly integrate throughout the supply chain.
Grabyo’s AI updates
In partnership with Magnifi, we have released the next stage of our automated live clipping and highlights solution. Magnifi’s AI engine powers our event detection and automated logging capabilities – every key moment in your live stream is marked up with rich metadata ready for publishing. You can cover multiple streams with no sports data needed.
You now have the ability to automatically populate edit projects with multiple clips, streamlining the creation of highlights packages. Simply set up your automation workflow, and our platform will log your DVR and populate your edits. Our approach to AI differs from traditional automated clipping workflows, with a focus on editorial control and quality. This workflow empowers video teams to do more with less, letting AI do the legwork, freeing you up to tell your stories.
For the first time, we have also introduced AI to our live production platform, Grabyo Producer. Using text-to-speech AI, you can now insert automated closed captions into your broadcasts. This includes configurable dictionaries, delays, multiple languages and more.
Live production: Alt-casting and automated vertical live streaming
While multiple alt-casting formats have been used by major broadcasters for the past few years, there has been a sharp increase in the demand for tools that enable media organizations of all sizes to capitalize on the revenue and reach opportunities alt-casting provides.
At IBC 2024, we showcased the ways that our customers use Grabyo to reformat and augment live content for new audiences.
From simulcasting to vertical re-framing, the possibilities are near endless using a combination of our tools to achieve fresh, new outputs.
Producer Gateway: Connected cloud workflows
IBC 2024 saw another first for Grabyo – our new desktop app, Producer Gateway. The gateway application serves as a bridge to local IP networks for production teams. For security reasons, browser-based applications cannot access all devices, equipment and peripherals on a local network, which limits production integration for some TV galleries or venues.
We’ve developed our gateway app to allow production teams to securely connect all local production equipment to the Grabyo cloud ecosystem, at ultra low-latency. Producer Gateway will open opportunities for production teams to connect tools such as tally lights for local cameras and utilize a wider range of input devices and hardware control surfaces with two-way integrations.
