Hashtag Sports LIVE Debuts Using Grabyo

The two-day virtual networking and matchmaking conference featured 65 senior executive media and marketing speakers and 3,000 registered attendees from across the sports & entertainment industries.

Hashtag Sports LIVE, a new digital networking and educational series, addresses the most critical challenges and opportunities surrounding fan engagement during COVID-19. The debut virtual event in June was powered by Grabyo along with production support from award-winning full-service video production agency Green Buzz Agency.

The Hashtag Sports team used Grabyo’s leading cloud video platform to broadcast all of its programming across its custom live conference platform, while delivering real-time clips and highlights to social media.

The event’s production team were able to work safely from their own homes using Grabyo’s browser-based platform, managing all aspects of the production from various locations in North America.

Using Grabyo’s remote contribution app, Producer Guest, Hashtag Sports was able to manage over 30 speakers each day who appeared on the live broadcast. Using only a single browser link, guests could contribute their audio and video from a laptop or PC from any location, whether home or office.

The virtual event was highly interactive, leveraging Grabyo’s integration with audience participation platform Tagboard to feature social posts from attendees during the broadcast. The audience of engagement experts included sports, media, and entertainment executives in addition to athletes, broadcasters, and content creators.

For those who were unable to register and attend the event online, Hashtag Sports also used Grabyo’s real-time clipping tool, Grabyo Studio, to deliver near-live highlights across its Twitter account.

Our first Hashtag Sports LIVE event was a huge success and the response from our attendees, speakers, partners, and the industry at large was extremely positive. Grabyo enabled us to deliver broadcast quality live conference programming alongside intimate networking and matchmaking. At a challenging time for the sports industry and live events, the ability to meaningfully connect with each other is vital and hosting our event virtually meant we were able to bring together a larger global community together than ever before.”

Anthony Caponiti, CEO & Co-Founder at Hashtag Sports

During the current COVID-19 environment, Grabyo’s tools are enabling event organizers to host virtual events at scale, while working remotely and collaboratively from their own homes. Grabyo Producer, its advanced live production platform, enables digital teams to produce and deliver live broadcasts to all major social, digital and mobile platforms, including the ability to add graphic overlays, audience participation mechanics and frame-accurate camera switching for a dynamic and engaging viewing experience.
