Grabyo 2021: A year in review
2021 has been an incredibly exciting year for Grabyo, we’ve taken many steps forward in developing the world’s fastest and most powerful cloud video production platform, while building out our partner ecosystem with the leading social platforms and production tools.
Across the industry, we have all adapted to this new hybrid way of working, with cloud adoption across many areas of business accelerating throughout the year.
Working together, both remotely and in-person, has led to some exceptional work throughout the company and we’d love to celebrate that with you.
The numbers
20% more live broadcasts were produced using Grabyo from last year. As more rights holders use Grabyo to create more opportunities for live content, restreaming and digital-first live experiences, Grabyo Producer has powered some of the year’s best social and digital live shows.
We continue to develop our rapid live clipping and editing tools, which have helped to generate over 19B video views for our partners, with over 1 million clips shared using our platform.
We will work even harder next year to continue delivering the level of results our partners expect using cloud production workflows.
The highlights
Nascar enhances its digital content capabilities
NASCAR, the world’s premier stock car racing association partnered with us to shift its digital video production workflow to a hybrid model, leveraging the cloud to bolster its digital content capabilities ahead of the GEICO 500 NASCAR Cup Series event at the Talladega Superspeedway.
Using Grabyo Producer, NASCAR produced several multimedia content series, including podcasts as well as video series.

Each show was custom branded with graphics and b-roll footage, alongside a mix of archival content from NASCAR’s historical library. The shows were mixed and delivered in the cloud using Grabyo Producer, giving NASCAR’s content team complete control of their content from any location.
Univision delivers extensive digital news coverage of historic US election with Grabyo
During the historic US election, Univision, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, leveraged our platform to ensure that its Hispanic audience had complete access to election updates and news.
Throughout each rapid news cycle surrounding the election, from polling day through to President Joe Biden’s inauguration, Grabyo’s production tools were a central component of Univision’s comprehensive digital news coverage. The News team used both Grabyo Producer for live production and streaming, as well as Grabyo Studio for real-time clipping and sharing.

The platform
The cloud-based audio mixer
Following the release of our browser-based multiviewer last year, we took another step forwards in delivering broadcast-quality live production tools in the cloud by adding a new audio service to our platform.
Unlike traditional audio mixer hardware, the Grabyo Audio Mixer can be operated remotely and can be customized for the needs of individual users and events. The first release of the service supported precise dBFS level monitoring, the ability to set volume, gain and pan and mute, listen to audio sources independently using pre-fade, after-fade or output listening and create and manage audio layers. Grabyo’s audio mixer can support a large number of individual audio sources per event, with the option to add multiple audio mixers and vision mixers for the same event if required.
Launching pro ingest
We launched Pro Ingest which gives the ability to ingest high-fidelity streams into Grabyo in a number of widely used video protocols.
Grabyo customers can now ingest video into our platform using the SRT, Zixi, RiST, RTP and RTMP protocols, supporting mezzanine video formats up to 120Mbps.
We will be following up this release with the option to egress live video in all of these formats soon. In the meantime, our partners can enjoy ultra-low latency production of high-definition video delivered to every screen – from TV to smartphone.
Detachable live production monitors
Another key UX update for Grabyo Producer was the launch of detachable monitors. This upgrade allows preview and program windows to pop out of Producer and be viewed separately from the production area, distributing the Producer Control Room across multiple screens.
Integrating with TikTok
Grabyo was chosen as a launch partner for TikTok’s new ‘Share to TikTok’ platform API, which allows users to reach their consumers by streamlining video production and delivery to TikTok accounts from the web.
The new integration enables users to speed up their workflows by creating a clip or video in vertical format within Grabyo’s cloud-based platform, to upload directly to the TikTok mobile app ready for publishing.
Looking ahead to 2022
We can’t wait to show you what we’ve got planned for 2022, with a number of game-changing features for live production and clipping hitting the Grabyo platform very soon. Get in touch with us to hear about them.
We’d like to thank all of our partners for a productive and successful 2021, and we hope to see everyone (hopefully in person) very soon.
Stay safe and enjoy the holidays
