Grabyo’s Partnership with América Televisión Super-Serves Football Fans in Peru

The broadcaster used Grabyo’s cloud video platform to deliver engaging social experiences to 5 million viewers throughout the 2019 Copa America.

We’ve partnered with América Televisión to enhance the broadcaster’s multi-platform video strategy during the 2019 Copa America.

The Peruvian broadcaster used Grabyo’s cloud video platform to extend its Copa America content proposition across social media, while driving downloads of its OTT app.

Grabyo’s live clipping and publishing tools allowed América Television to deliver ‘real time’ Copa clips to its social channels moments after the action happened. The broadcaster’s most-watched clip shows the end of the group-stage game between Peru and Bolivia, won by the Peruvian National Team 3-1. This was Peru’s first win in the group stage, and the clip reached 350,000 views on Facebook.

Capturing the attention of soccer fans is becoming more difficult. Modern fans expect quality tailored viewing experiences across the channels they use.

Grabyo’s platform helped the broadcaster to create bespoke viewing experiences for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in vertical, square and landscape formats simultaneously.

By being first to market with tailored content, América Televisión was able to capture vast social video audiences. The broadcaster then leveraged this exposure to promote downloads of its OTT app, América TVGo, by inserting pre and post-roll bumpers to clips using Grabyo Studio.

“At America Television we are always trying new technologies to reach our audiences in more innovative and effective ways, and this partnership with Grabyo allowed us to do exactly that,” said Jose Hernandez, Head of Digital for the TV Network. “By using Grabyo´s intuitive clipping and posting tools, our social media teams were able to generate compelling content in real time,” he added.
