Enhanced replay plus MRSS, custom time sync and more live clipping upgrades

This month we’ve got a bumper set of new features across our live production and live clipping platform, with new features and workflow enhancements across the board.

No time to waste – let’s dive straight in.

MRSS Ingest

You are now able to ingest video clips and content into Grabyo using custom MRSS feeds.

All you need is a URL link to your MRSS feed, or feeds of partners, to get started. Once that’s up and running, you can then preview and select which content you’d like to import into Grabyo.

Any assets you import can also contain provided metadata, such as titles, descriptions and more.

This update builds on our MRSS export capabilities, enabling you to provide partners and sponsors with an MRSS feed of content created in Grabyo.

We’ve added two new areas of functionality to our live trimmer – video thumbnails and relative time codes.

We work closely with our customers to ensure our live clipping experience is seamless and we’re excited to have upgraded the platform with this update.

You now have the option to view your live trimming area as video thumbnails, helping you to locate certain moments faster and easier for clipping. You have the option to turn this on/off.

We have also introduced ‘relative time’, which allows you to set custom time codes in our live clipping platform to align with your broadcast studio timecodes, or any other timecodes you use.

You can set timecodes to correspond to the beginning of your live feed ingest, or manually set your start time at any point using keyboard shortcuts.

For more expanded editing workflows, we’ve also added the ability to download audio-only files from your content library, in MP3 format.

Any video assets you have stored in your Grabyo library can now be downloaded as audio-only, speeding up workflows that don’t require both audio and video channels, such as for podcasting or radio use.

If you are creating or uploading clips with multiple audio tracks, you are able to choose which audio track to download.

This update allows you to trim VODs after you’ve added them to a media player, streamlining the process of altering your VOD content after you’ve created or imported it into your live production in Grabyo Producer

When creating replays, you are now also able to re-trim a replay clip after it has been created, from within the control room or our dedicated replay interface.

Replay clips now retain a 2-minute padding window after they are created. This means if a replay operator misses a key moment during the original replay, you can go back and extend the clip to capture more, within the 2 minute window.

Typically a replay operator might also let a clip run longer in real-time, so they, or another member of the team can tighten it up afterwards to use in a highlights package or elsewhere.

Building on our recent automated live captions update, you can now generate and insert AI-generated open captions into live streams, alongside the option to insert closed captions.

Our automated live captions feature uses speech-to-text AI to generate closed captions, in real time, for live broadcast outputs in any supported format -including SRT, Zixi, RIST, RTMP and RTP.

When inserting open captions, you have many styling, sizing and positioning options to customize your output.

That’s that! If you’d like more information, or to see a demo of these features, catch us at NAB 2025 or book a meeting with us here.
