The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore brings IP Week @ SG 2021 to online audiences globally
IP Week @ SG is the world’s premier Intellectual Property (IP) event which brings together IP thought leaders, legal experts and innovative enterprises.
The event was held in a hybrid format, with day one of the Global Forum on IP Conference held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre for a limited number of guests. All other sessions were fully virtual. Overall, IP Week 2021 had 10,000 participants from over 50 countries and over 85 partners involved in the event.
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore’s (IPOS) social media team utilized Grabyo’s cloud video platform to deliver content from the event directly to its social media channels. With travel restricted in many places, IPOS was able to widen the scope of its event to reach audiences wherever they were in the world, providing access to highlights and talking points across every platform.
Throughout the event, IPOS’s social media team used Grabyo’s Studio platform to clip, edit and distribute content in a fully cloud-based workflow, maximizing its reach across digital platforms outside of the event and aligning its branding across every platform.
Clips from IP Week 2021 were posted to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook optimized for viewing on each platform. IPOS was able to collaborate in a cloud-based workflow with team members only needing access to a laptop with an internet connection in any location.
IPOS’ social media team streamlined the production, organization and delivery of event content using Grabyo’s CMS, which gave each team member access to all event assets, including all live feeds, VOD and graphics.
“Grabyo proved useful for clipping live videos and streams, which enabled us to produce quick daily event highlights for IP Week 2021. The user-friendly interface and CMS made it easy to locate and organise our clips – all whilst editing and clipping the livestream in real-time. All the features of Grabyo being readily available on the web-browser makes it extra accessible and less of a hassle to use too.”

By simplifying its production workflow in the cloud, IPOS’s social media team was able to deliver more clips from the event in real-time, without investing in additional equipment and infrastructure. Its audience could follow the whole event across social media in a way that felt like they were there.
“Our cloud platform and video production services provide agile ways to enhance workflows and deliver more content on the right platforms and at the right time. We’re delighted to have worked with The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore to deliver IP Week content in different ways. There is a pivot to cloud technology and this type of video production is a blueprint for future events to reach larger regional and global audiences. Attending events doesn’t necessarily mean in-person anymore.”
Elliot Renton, Executive Vice President for APAC, Grabyo.
