Grabyo adds support for AWS Entitlements: Simple, flexible and secure video transport
We are pleased to announce we have released support for AWS Entitlements in the Grabyo platform, enabling users to securely transport mezzanine-quality live video in and out of our platform using AWS Elemental MediaConnect.
If you’re using AWS Elemental MediaConnect to transport your live video streams, in a fully or hybrid IP-based production, you can now grant an entitlement to access the content within Grabyo, creating a streamlined, closed-loop workflow.
Entitlements allow you to distribute 120 Mbps transport streams with full end-to-end AES256 encryption to other AWS accounts using reliable and optimized video transmission. You can read more here.
How does it work?
When setting up a new ingest point within Grabyo, you can choose to receive content from a MediaConnect entitlement. Using the ARN and encryption details provided in your AWS account, you can set up the ingest in a matter of moments.
Here’s a diagram from AWS to show the flow of content:
You are also able to share video content from Grabyo to a MediaConnect entitlement. You can create, alter and revoke entitlements at any time in your AWS account.

Why should I use AWS Entitlements?
Sharing content using AWS Entitlements is a faster and more secure way to transport video. It also brings more flexibility to your workflows.
Instead of needing to hand off an HLS or DASH stream, transcoded before delivery with specified settings, MediaConnect allows you to process the video how you like, with the ability to use other AWS Elemental services, including AWS Elemental MediaLive, to create adapted outputs for your platforms.
