The Television Academy, bolstered its Emmy Awards digital content strategy for the unique 72nd Emmy® Awards telecast in September 2020 with Grabyo, the leading cloud video platform.
With the television industry going through a challenging period for live production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Emmys was combination of live, remote/virtual segments and pre-taped production for the first time.
To be able to adapt to producing the event remotely while reaching its global fanbase, the Television Academy doubled down on digital content, ensuring the 72nd Emmy Awards show was available to audiences on every platform and device.
The awards telecast was shown on ABC in the U.S. and transmitted live to more than 30 countries around the world, for immediate and repeat viewing.
