Hollywood Climate Summit brings its mission to life with real-time storytelling powered by Grabyo
From stage to social in minutes with cloud-native production
The Hollywood Climate Summit has become a creative home for changemakers across entertainment, where filmmakers, producers and activists unite to explore how storytelling can drive collective climate action.
For three days in Los Angeles, the Summit sparked powerful conversations about sustainability, responsibility and creativity’s role in shaping cultural change. This year, the Hollywood Climate Summit team wanted to take that energy beyond the walls of the conference and connect those moments with digital audiences in real time.
As Co-Founder Allison Begalman explained, the goal wasn’t just to record discussions for later. It was to share ideas when they were at their most alive.
“Not everyone can be in the room. But when someone shares a thought that moves people, something that captures the heart of what this work is about, we want to bring others into that moment right away.”
To make that possible, the Summit worked with Grabyo, using its cloud tools to produce, clip and share live moments quickly and collaboratively across their social and digital channels.
Real-time storytelling for real-world change
In previous years, the Summit’s content sat on hard drives for weeks, waiting to be edited before release. For a small nonprofit with a big message, that delay meant losing momentum and risked losing the audience’s attention.
With Grabyo Studio, the process became immediate and collaborative. The media team could log in remotely, watch each session as it happened, and pull the most impactful clips ready for instant social publishing. Administrators could review and refine these moments within minutes, often with speakers still on-site.
“After one of our speakers finished, I went straight into the green room to get her approval on a clip. Within minutes, it was live on Instagram. That immediacy helped us hold onto the energy in the room and connect directly with our digital audience while the conversation was still resonating.” Allison Begalman, Co-Founder, Hollywood Climate Summit
This shift allowed the Summit to share meaningful content that reflected the urgency of its mission, proving that agility in storytelling can amplify impact far beyond the event itself.
A workflow that mirrors the mission
At its heart, the Hollywood Climate Summit is about collaboration across industries, disciplines and perspectives. That same spirit now defines how the team creates and shares its content.
“For us, success isn’t about the size of our production team,” Allison explained. “It’s about being able to share timely, thoughtful content that sparks conversation. Grabyo Studio gave us that capability. It made the process simple, fast and collaborative.”
By integrating Grabyo Studio into its workflow, the Hollywood Climate Summit has built a production model that reflects its values: accessible, connected and community-driven.
Looking ahead
The partnership between the Hollywood Climate Summit and Grabyo is more than a technical collaboration. It is an example of how creative storytelling and sustainable innovation can work hand in hand.
“The ability to collaboratively review, edit and export experiences in real time is critical in the age of 24/7 storytelling,” said Allison. “Grabyo Studio has become essential to how we share our mission and how we bring others into it.”
As the Summit continues to grow, its use of cloud-based production will ensure that climate storytelling remains timely, relevant and accessible, capturing the urgency of today’s conversations and turning them into tomorrow’s action.
