PDC DELIVER WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TO DIGITAL PLATFORMS

Ahead of the 2019/20 PDC World Darts Championship, PDC set a rapid ambitious strategy across its digital channels, with a focus on live highlights. PDC wanted the ability to capture and distribute every twist and turn from the Ally Pally.
Using our cloud video platform, PDC’s digital team was able to deliver content to fans globally in real-time, across multiple digital and social channels.
Fallon Sherrock’s performance in the tournament captures the hearts of darts fans, becoming the first woman to win a match at a World Championship in round one. Progression through the tournament Fallon’s performances drew large audiences on TV. The third-round match against Chris Dobey then drew the biggest TV audience ever seen for an afternoon session of the event.

PDC clipped and edited highlights for their Twitter and Facebook channels throughout the tournament. Fans used these channels to keep up to do with the natchez as well as re-living key moments. The most popular clip from across the World Championship was the moment Sherrock won the fourth set against Ted Evetts in her first match, setting up her historic win. It was viewed by over 6 million people.
Using Grabyo to clip and edit moments as they happened ensured PDC were the first-to-market with every clip, making its own channels the primary destination for darts fans following the action.
