AMÉRICA TELEVISIÓN SERVES FOOTBALL FANS WITH ENHANCED VIDEO STRATEGY
Broadcaster gains over 3 million viewers throughout the Copa America with enhanced video strategy
Looking to enhance the video strategy for the Copa America 2019 tournament, América Televisión partnered with Grabyo to deliver multi-platform video content to football fans in Peru.
Using Grabyo’s live clipping and publishing tools throughout the tournament América Televisión was able to extend the content proposition across social media and simultaneously drive downloads of its OTT app. Delivering real-time clips from the Copa America tournament to social channels moments after the action happened was a key pillar of the strategy- increasing engagement and overall social following.
The most-watched clip was the end of the group-stage game between Peru and Bolivia, won by Peru 3-1. This was Peru’s first win in the group stage, and the clip reached 350,000 views on Facebook.
Being the first to market with tailored content was essential to the strategy, allowing América Televisión to capture large social audiences. Once this audience was engaged it created an opportunity for the promotion of additional services, including the OTT app and América TVGo. This was done using Grabyo studio to insert pre and post-roll bumpers on the clips being served.
This innovative approach to coverage of the tournament allowed the broadcaster to increase its following across social channels and expand its digital offering. The real-time clips encouraged fans to engage with the content and feel part of the action.
