Product Update: Grabyo Studio launches advanced published features for Facebook video
When Facebook introduced a suite of new distribution options, Team Grabyo wanted to integrate these into our Grabyo Studio platform. Today, we are excited to announce that they’re ready to use. Let me talk you through them…
Secret Videos
Facebook have introduced ‘secret’ videos, a similar feature to one that YouTube has incorporated into its platform for some time (known as ‘unlisted’). When admins upload a video as ‘secret’, only those with the direct URL are able to access the video. Within Grabyo Studio, when you select your sharing options in the bottom right of the screen, ensure ‘secret’ is ticked to be able to share your video privately.
This is useful for those who want to embed the video onto another site without it showing up on your Facebook Page feed or anywhere else on the social network.
No Story
Currently every video you post to Facebook gets shown in your ‘story’, meaning it appears in chronological order on your Page (unless you have a pinned item of content). Now, Grabyo gives users the ability to post content directly to your Videos tab, without distributing to News Feed or Timeline. When publishing your video via Grabyo Studio, make sure to ‘tick’ the ‘No Story’ option in the bottom right of the screen to make sure your content only gets seen in the Videos tab.
This update is perfect for content creators who are frequently distributing video content to their Page, but are not comfortable with the influx of content this presents on their timeline.
Embedding
Whilst Facebook might be the primary destination for your video content, you may want to embed your video on a third-party site such as a website or blog. Now, you can either allow or restrict fans from having access to the embed code by selecting ‘Embed’ in the bottom right of the Grabyo Studio screen.
This is a great addition for Grabyo users who are sharing real-time highlights and want to keep ownership of the conversation before unofficial channels distribute their content via their own platforms, but also for those who do not want to have to publish an additional video to YouTube to be able to host content on third-party sites.
Categories
Whilst it might seem that 95% of video content shared online is of ‘cute animals’, but not all of it is. Facebook have introduced the option to label videos based on interest categories, including Entertainment, News, Cute Animals and more…
Grabyo users can now categorise their videos before sharing them to Facebook, choosing one of the many options available by Facebook.
These updates to Grabyo Studio will give you greater customisation when distributing video content to Facebook. If you have any questions on how to use any of Grabyo’s features, you can always drop us an email on hello@grabyo.com.
