GRUPO AMÉRICA DELIVER SOCIAL-FIRST VISUAL RADIO SHOWS DURING 2019 COPA AMERICA

3.1 Million views with live radio broadcasts and new revenue on YouTube

For the live coverage of the 2019 Copa America, Groupo América partnered with Radio La Red to deliver “visual radio” broadcasts to Facebook and YouTube using our cloud video platform.

Delivering content in this format allows Radio Lad Red to capture a new audience on social media, reaching further than a radio-only broadcast. The platform allows for a large audience to be reached without the need for live distribution rights.

Engagement peaks when events are live, giving Radio La Red the ability to maximize live audio rights to further promote its mobile app to football fans across Argentina. Using Grabyo, branded graphics were used throughout the broadcasts on YouTube.

The shows achieved over 3 million views on YouTube. Radio La Red used Grabyo’s integration with the social participation platform, Flowics. This partnership enabled live stats from each game and fan comments to be displayed during the live broadcasts.

Using branded pre-roll bumpers added to the visual radio show, Radio La Red was able to monetize the content by promoting sponsors and brand partners. This was achieved by using Grabyo’s distribution partnership and ContentID integration with YouTube to monetize content through YouTube advertising.

Creating a visual radio show engaged Argentiantian fans in real-time throughout the tournament. The radio show is an alternative and accessible way to engage fans with the tournament anytime, anywhere. This innovative approach demonstrates the potential for digital radio by combining live audio with audience participation.
