NAB is one of those rare chances for everyone in the broadcast, tech and digital industries to get together in the same venue for a week for an intense week of networking, sharing and digital innovation.

Team Grabyo was once again in attendance for the entirety of the Show. Exhibiting in both the South Hall Upper and the Facebook Live Partner Pavilion, we spent the week discussing and sharing the latest insights into cloud video production, editing and distribution, meeting with our existing partners and the very best across broadcast, sports and publishing.

The overriding consensus throughout NAB was that as audiences continue to change and mobile, on-demand viewing becomes the norm, the importance of having a fast, efficient tool to reach audiences across mobile, social platforms is now a must. There is a greater understanding that audiences are now across multiple platforms and expect to receive content on-demand and optimized for viewing on mobile devices.

We also saw an increased interest in broadcasters looking to create new content formats, particularly for live streaming. There is clear demand for a more flexible, affordable approach to live production that allows teams to create digital-first experiences for their audience.

During an interview with the NAB Connected Media News, CEO Gareth Capon discussed how Grabyo partners are creating new live experiences across social platforms. These differ from traditional TV, and how these new formats should generate indirect value from social platforms rather than cannibalize existing rights and commercial agreements.

There was also plenty of discussion around how to best use video across social and digital platforms. It remains the best tool to generate audience engagement and interaction and during an interview with Forbes, Gareth was able to discuss how the recent changes to Facebook's news feed are helping, not hindering, tier one rights holders.
