After the success of the first NFL draft, broadcasters and sports teams continue to produce innovative content from home. SpaceX and NASA live streamed the historic launch as SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft began its journey to the International Space Station. There was a DJ set on the roof in Manhattan as David Guetta teamed up with the MLS and Heinkien for a charity concert, United at Home. With live sports still on pause, Fox Football and the NBL have been hosting talk shows from home.
NASA & SpaceX
Space X and Nasa launched the Crew Dragon spacecraft into orbit at the end of May. This was the first crewed-mission launched by SpaceX after the first attempt was postponed due to bad weather. The event was live-streamed globally on the NASA YouTube channel, achieving over 10 million concurrent views. The broadcast included streams from the spacecraft and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida as viewers watched the spacecraft accelerate into space, they also showed the reaction of the control room.
The NBA has launched the NBA Together campaign to support, engage, educate, and inspire fans across the globe who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The NBA hosted a series of panel discussions including a recent NBA Together episode discussing a variety of topics including racism, police brutality and the collective responsibility to drive change in response to the passing of Geroge Floyd. The panelists joined the conversation from their homes and the shows were broadcast to a global audience.

David Guetta partnered with Heinkenen and the MLS for a series of rooftop DJ sets. The sets are live from Manhattan with fans and partners having exclusive access via large screens placed on the roof, joining the evening on a zoom call. The campaign United Together supports charities responding to the pandemic. It was broadcast to a global audience on several channels including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, VK, and TikTok.
Fox has been keeping its NFL fans engaged with a series of talk shows, Fox Football Now. The show covers all things NFL covering the draft and discussing fan questions. Produced remotely, and bringing in guests from their home via a video call, the show is broadcast on FS1.
