THE FA PARTNERS WITH GRABYO FOR LIVE GAMES
The FA uses Grabyo Producer & Singular.Live to broadcast weekly WSL games
For the 2017/18 FA Women’s Super League season, the English Football Association has partnered with Grabyo and Singular.Live to broadcast weekly WSL games to Facebook Live, featuring live scores, news tickers, broadcast graphics and highlights produced via a web-browser.
Games from the FA WSL are broadcast live each week to BT Sport and BBC Online with the FA further retaining a further game for live broadcast to its own social channels. The FA has also broadcast games from the Continental Tyres UK Cup, with over 500,000 watching the Final on Facebook Live.
Previously the FA had used Grabyo Studio to send a clean feed directly to Facebook with no scores or graphics, only commentary. By using Grabyo Producer and the integration with Singular.Live, the FA was able to enhance the broadcast to feature live scores, real-time data, live stats and match graphics, replicating a broadcast experience for digital audiences.
Produced via a web-browser, the digital team at the FA now has the flexibility to create a traditional viewing experience for audiences on Facebook Live without the need for expensive hardware and traditional on-site broadcast equipment.
The use of Producer has seen a sharp increase in the amount of viewers, engagements and an increased watch length of live broadcasts shared to the WSL Facebook page. The FA also use Grabyo Studio to share daily clips, highlights and key moments from the WSL to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
